So this is one of the load of doors that I picked up at Habitat for Humanity, it was just to good of a deal to pass up, ($5.00 each)
I felt kinda bad sanding the beautiful finish on the doors, but then I got over that real quick and started sanding away...I sanded and sanded then wiped them down with paint thinner... Then I started painting.. I did some red, green and a couple of black.
I love this piece! I've had it for years. It's very fragile so when I had copies made I put some dark red paper behind it and it makes all the details in the wonderful piece really pop. I copied all of the prints on to darker background papers so they would fit onto the door panels. I trimmed the print to fit into the inside door panel, then I used Mod Podge to glue them on being careful to get out all the bubbles. Once dried I went over the top with the Mod Podge to make sure it was secure. After it had dried completely I sprayed the entire frame and print with Design Master Silver Glitter spray. I attached ribbon on the back to hang the picture with.
I added some extra glitter around the edge of the print and on the trees and rooftop of the house. Of course I sanded the edges of the wood and stained the edges with mahogany stain, (I did this before putting the picture on) I also lightly stained the edge of the print with stain before I put the final coat of Mod Podge on.
Now for a smaller door I painted this one black, sanded the edges and stained them. Next I Mod Podged a piece of scrapbook paper that fit the inside panel of the door. I had some vinyl lettering cut out and I added the words before I glued it onto the door. I really like this one and it will look really nice next to some of my nativities.

I have some wonderful old vintage prints, one is a old advertising sign and one is the cover of a coloring book.
The cover that I found is a little tattered and torn but I thing if looks really cool. It brings back memories from my childhood, I used to spend hours with my coloring books, I loved it.

Here are some more that I did, I used some Christmas cards and Mod Podged them on.
Well six doors down and I've got more ideas for the other ones. I'll be posting more later this week!
